Tariff and VAT

Where can I find the customs tariff?

The Customs Tariff Order determines the customs tariff for each customs item. Sometimes the general customs tariff is different than the tariff for specific countries, pursuant Israel’s free trade agreements. The agreements specify reduced customs tariffs for some of the goods, so you should inspect the Customs Tariff Order for provisions pertaining to the product’s manufacturing country.
 

Must I pay value added tax (VAT) on import?

Tax on import may comprise three components: customs tariff, purchase tax, and value added tax. Some of the goods are exempt from customs tariff, but purchase tax and VAT still apply.

Must I pay customs tariff on personal import?

Yes. We recommend reviewing the consolidated tax table in the customs website.
